Below are some of the more commonly asked questions (FAQ) about San Gabriel Valley Training Center:

How do people get into San Gabriel Valley Training Center?

There are five steps to the enrollment process:

1. Before a tour, please call Pomona Regional Center 909-620-7722 or ELARC 626-299-4700 to make sure you are in the catchment area and eligible for services.
2. Call for a tour 626-968-8479. Call between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm
3. Coordinate visit with your referral counselor
4. Request from your Regional Center counselor to send packet to SGVTC/CRTC Intake Staff
5. Upon approval, consumer can start

Is lunch free?

No. Lunch can be purchased at a nominal fee or you may bring your own lunch.

What if I have a problem or question?

Ask your immediate supervisor to contact your SGVTC/CTRTC counselor. When your counselor is available they will meet with you.

If I get hurt, what do I do?

Inform your immediate supervisor immediately. You will be escorted to the First Aid Room.

How will I get to San Gabriel Valley Training Center?

SGVTC/CRTC does not provide transportation; however, public and private transportation may be available by contacting your Regional Center counselor. For directions to our facility click here.

How will I know how I am doing in my program?

Semi-annual and annual meetings are held with you, your parent(s) or care provider, Regional Center counselor and your SGVTC/CRTC counselor.

Can I change programs?

YES! You may discuss this with your SGVTC/CRTC counselor.

How can I get a job out in the community?

An evaluation will be made to determine if your skills are employable. If it is determined that you are eligible, a referral will be made to the appropriate SEP staff member.

How can I become “Trainee of the Month?

Work hard, maintain good attendance, be a role model, demonstrate good work skills and behaviors.
