Identify and address specific individual needs. Daily response to client needs. 90 day initial review and assessment for new clients. On going assessments via semi-annual and annual reviews. Client specific goal planning. Counselors as liaisons to families, care providers and involved agencies.
Trained staff in CPR and First Aid, choking response, special dietary concerns awareness, earthquake and fire response, unwanted intruder and power outage response. Clients are taught safe movement through out the work and grounds, proper clothing, how to report illness or injury, etc. CRTC manager and director provide monthly reviews and reminders to clients during communal meeting. Quarterly safety inspections with staff and client representatives are held as well as regularly scheduled emergency response drills.
Develop appropriate social interaction and communication skills to enhance work performance and enjoyment. Assist students and new workers in the transition from school or home to the responsibilities and expectations of the work environment. Focus on self-confidence, self-motivation and empowerment through work activity. Maintenance of social skills as an on-going process.
Learn the value of self-reward through work performance and pride in a job well done. Be exposed to a variety of persons of different backgrounds, personalities and abilities. Learn work preparedness, appropriate grooming and hygiene, timeliness, work problem resolution and self motivation.

CRTC teaches basic work skills in a community business setting that provides production support services for local businesses. Production skills include: shrink wrap process, heat sealing, packaging, bagging, assembly, displays, collation, glue process, stapling, labeling, counting and sorting, pallet wrap and general shop maintenance. Supported employment readiness is available to clients who may seek enclave or individual placement in the community.
Learn self-advocacy skills in a fun and relaxed environment. "Speak Out" class is designed to teach each participant skills to express feelings, preferences and choices in a way that is comfortable, builds confidence and independence. A class is also offered in client "Rights and Responsibilities". Classes are held at CRTC and are free. Classes are taught by CRTC rehabilitation services manager, who is degreed and certified.
In association with LA county and local school districts CRTC offers a unique experience to high school and transition students while they are still attending school. As an "off campus class room" students are transported by school bus to/from CRTC for approximately two hours each day. Students learn working along side CRTC's client workers and are exposed to a real work environment. Many of the students find employment at CRTC after graduation.
